Yes,
Everybody can fail and I am leaving out deliberately failing from this. However, cheating is a choice. Its a cop out. So failing is indeed a more respectful end of a relationship, you tried, you failed, you’ll try again. You cheat, its guilt for life. Plus cheating adds lying to the personality card, which indeed makes failing look more respectable than cheating.
Most people in their sane mind will not trust someone who has cheated, but they will probably trust someone who failed. And trust is a sign of respect.
