It is connected in parallel as,
In houses, there are many electrical appliances that have to run independent of each other so if one appliance is turned on or off is should not affect the other appliance so that's y parallel connection is used and also if wiring arrangements is in series than potential difference (often called as voltage) would vary at every resistance of every appliance so it will be difficult to provide flow across all appliances but in parallel arrangements V(voltage) is constant across all appliance so that's y it is always used in wiring arrangements at home.
Hope this helps!!!
