Hcl present inside in our body is not harmful for us if it is used.Means that Hcl present in the stomach helps in the digestion of food.But we don't take food at regular intervals it can harm us.
But the Hcl present in labs(the acids) can cause harm to us.

HCl is not affected in our stomach because the gastric juice mucus is synthesized.
