One such example is tearing a paper.

It is considered as a physical change as only its physical appearance has been affected and no new substance is formed. But it can't be reversed back to the same piece of paper it was before being torn down into small pieces.

Another example is chopping a log of wood.

It can be broken down to smaller pieces (only affecting physical appearance), but can you bring back the same log of wood after cutting? No.

Hence, it is proven that not all physical changes can be reversed.

Physical changes that involve a change of state are all reversible. Other changes of state include vaporization (liquid to gas),freezing (liquid to solid), and condensation (gas to liquid). Dissolving is also a reversible physical change.
