In fact, it must not just travel in a straight line but also must always go in the same direction (I remember that on a straight line there are two directions of motion possible),i.e., “it must never change its direction” is the only condition it has to satisfy to qualify for being in uniform motion (I forgot to mention explicitly that the speed needs to be constant first; so technically two conditions).
