Is it necessary for the two bodies to be in direct contact fora force to exist between them?

No, there are certain force which act on bodies even if there are not in contact,such as gravitational force . magnetic force etc. (please mark this answer as brainlist answer,plz)

Nah, its not necessary for the force to be between them to make the two bodies in direct contact. As the force can also exist indirectly. 

For example- If we jump on the Earths surface then it the gravitational force pulls us down. It is also not in a contact with the object.
