Hydrogen is the element which has one electron one proton and no neutron.

Explanation:

  • Hydrogen is the first element in the periodic table with mass number 1.008 and atomic number 1.
  • The atomic number of the elements is equal to the number of protons present in the atom of the element.
  • As the atomic number of hydrogen is 1, it infers that hydrogen contains 1 proton.
  • In an atom number of protons = number of electron. Thus as hydrogen has 1 proton, it contains 1 electron.
  • When the value of neutron in hydrogen is calculated using the following formula, it gives

Mass number = No. of protons + No. of neutrons.

Mass number - No. of protons = No. of neutrons

1.00 - 1 = 0

  • Thus the above calculation infers that hydrogen has 0 neutrons.
