Answer :

length(l) = 20m

breadth(b) = 20m

Explanation :

Given,

→ perimeter of rectangular park = 80 m

2(l + b) = 80

l + b = 40

l = 40 - b ------ equation 1

→ Area of park = 400 m²

lb = 400

Substitute equation 1 in this.

→ (40 - b)b = 400

40b - b² - 400 = 0

b² - 40 b + 400 = 0

Solving the equation by factorisation,

→ b² - 20b - 20b + 400 = 0

b(b - 20) - 20(b - 20) = 0

(b - 20)(b - 20) = 0

b = 20m

Substitute b = 20 in equation 1

→ l = 40 - b

l = 40 - 20

l = 20 m

Therefore,

Length of rectangular park is 20m.

Breadth of rectangular park is 20m.
