is it possible to have two numbers whose HCF is 18 and LCM is 760?Give reason. Hint:HCF always divides LCM completely

760/18=42.22
here, HCF does not divide the LCM complete therefore it is not possible to have two numbers whose hcf is 18 and lcm is 760.

Method - 1:

Let the two numbers be a and b.

We know that LCM * HCF = Product of two numbers

                        760 * 18 = 18a * 18b

                        760 = 18ab

                        ab = 760/18


Its not possible.


Method - 2:

18 is not a factor of 760.

Therefore it is not possible.
