When light cannot pass through a sheet, nothing else can be visible through that material due its opaque nature. When light cannot pass through an object, it is termed as opaque.

On the contrary, the material that allows the light to pass totally through it is called to be transparent.

Likewise, the material that allows partial passage of light is said to be translucent.
