The Deccan Plateau

The part of the peninsular plateau extending to south of the vindhyas is called the Deccan plateau. The western Edge of the Deccan plateau is called the western Ghats. The Highest Peak of the Peninsular region, Anaumudi (2,695 metres above the sea level) is situated in the state of Kerala. It is the highest peak of the Annamalai Hills.
