is media and networking right for us

To some extent yes.
Media includes movies, news, sports, entertainment etc. These provide us with knowledge as well as entertain us. Coming on networking, sites like Facebook, Twitter allow us to talk with people who are in another part of the world. Facebook and other such sites allow us to reconnect with people who we have long forgotten or not are in touch.
To some extent no.
Media shows some bad things like criminal doings, accidents, etc. which keeps the public terrorized. 
Social Network keeps us engaged and so we lose our time. 
In both of these bad things are shown which may insert bad habits in us.
In the end no one if Media and Social Network are right for us or not.
