yes, the power is must equal to product of force and velocity.

 

power= work/time

and work =force × displacement

so ,power= force×displacement/time    {  since displacement/time= velocity}

hence power=force×velocity


shsawatanand30: since if velocity is opposite of force applied , then we apply scalar product
shsawatanand30: but in much cases the power is mainly given as product of force and velocity
