Hi dear ,
According to me, it's upon u that whether Praying to god is neccesary or not..!! becoz some people think that there is no GOD. but i think GoD is here, there n everywhere ☺..
basically ,in India most of the people think that praying To GOD is necessarybcz India is known to be LAND OF GODS OR RELIGIONS.
so, at last but not least i wanna say u that, it's upon u to pray or not. no compulsion is there....
