Is pure alcohol and methanol the same? Is there any difference between them?

It is sometimes called wood alcoholbecause it used to be made from wood, but today its made from natural gas. ... Isopropyl alcohol is a slightly bigger molecule than ethanol(Methanol is CH4O, Ethanol is C2H6O and Isopropyl alcohol is C3H8O) and is often cheaper to make.

Due to which methanol is added to ethanol for industrial use to avoid the misuse of the product. Ethanol affects the metabolic process and depress the central nervous system, while the methanol affects the optic nerves causing blindness the oxidise to methanal in the liver coagulating the protoplasm

methanol is a type of alchol which is toxic to humans but ethanol which os commonly called as alcohol is non poisonous....
