nice question! theoritical experiments proves that quantum mechanics works in many aspects but we could never really observe most of phenomena in really life with our senses.
and does time travel work?
no one knows. theoritically worm holes can exist but we never really observed any worm holes. they are nothing but structures which bends space time such two points will be in almost the same (refer to the image). worm holes allows you to travel in space and time so that it takes least time to reach the other point.
and coming to gravity which plays important role in time determination. we have to imagine the whole space and time as a blanket .more heavy the body the more gravity it posess. when you place a ball on blanket you observe a crust similarly a black hole is so heavy that it creates a hole on this blanket so space- time is curved. so lets say there is a planet which is very big or it is near black hole then time changes so if you spend 1 min in this planet it may be an year back on earth.
so that is how far we came to know about time travel. we dont really have evidence if we can travel back in past. it is possible if you travel faster than light but it is impossible
