is respiration and breathing same? why

janvisingla17: Breathing and respiration are sometimes mistaken as being the same process, however they are very different. Breathing is the mechanical process that brings oxygen into the bloodstream via the lungs, and takes carbon dioxide out of the blood through the lungs.
