Is Saponification Reaction Exothermic or Endothermic Reaction. If it is Exothermic, then why we apply external heat from Bunsen Burner during the reaction. Please Explain?

We supply external heat because as many reactions (including this) needs heat to make the elements or compound react with each other. By the way it is Endothermic reaction and the stage when heat is applied its called 'Gel Phase'.
