yes, sounds travel like a wave through molecule to molecule. it is because when we produce a sound it is a form of energy which causes the closest molecule to start movement in periodic motion then the energy passes through one molecule to other than at last the molecule near to our ear behaves in periodic motion and then only we are able to hear.
