It is the most common soil and the most fertile soil in India it is normall found in the outskerts of kerala, tamil nadu, karnataka and are found a lot near the maharashtra and the northern sides

it is usually found near the basins of the river, that is, the river carries the alluvial soil with it and when the stream of river slows down, it deposits the soil.

some rivers which deposit this soils are

Ganga

Brahmaputhra

Indus
