never have they said about the presence of a materialistic god. read these and some more articles you'll need no more explanation.
great saints like mt. teresa is said to have had magical powers of healing. swami ramkrishna is said to have fed ma Kali the hindu goddess but there's no proof in that. there are a rich variety of articles related to this matter. read them.

I don't think that God exists.
But it is our faith in mind that there is god.
