Magnesium is the most ‘reactive metal’ among Fe, Zn, Al and Mg.

Explanation:

  • This is because magnesium has a ‘valency’ of two similar to zinc however aluminium has a ‘valency’ of three like iron in ferric state.
  • Also magnesium belongs to the group 2 elements which are very reactive and more than zinc.
  • For a valency of two it takes less energy to push out an electron from its orbit than it takes for a valency of three. Hence magnesium is the most ‘reactive’ of all the metals.
