hi mate☺☺☺☺☺☺☺

Outer layer of the trees is covered with bark, which gives it strength and protect the plant from injury and infection. The bark is made up of dead cells of different origins. While the outer layer of young tree stem is made up of living cells.

The outer layer of a plant is a very rough surfaces known as bark which consist of dead cells.
The outer layer of stems is not that hard compared to bark and it's made up of living cells.
