To convert a Galvanometer into Voltmeter we connect a "series resistance" in series with the Galvanometer . Suppose the series resistance be R ; and Galvanometer resistance be G ;
then The resistance of Voltmeter becomes = R +G .
Clearly , resistance of voltmeter larger than the resistance of galvanometer from which it is converted.
