By definition Cloning is the process by which genetically similar individual or offspring such as bacteria, insects, or plants reproduce asexually.   

So per the definition, clone term is applicable to the offspring or individual that are produced by vegetative reproduction such as cloning of carrot, mango etc. 

Cloning can be Natural, Molecular, or Cell. And it was first termed or invented by J.B.S. Haldane.
