The fungal growth is directly related to moisture content. The growth of the fungus is dependent upon the moisture content in the air which is simply humidity.

A necessary condition of fungal growth is presence of moisture content; and when there is more humidity in the atmosphere the moisture content in the air increases which provides good breeding ground for fungal development.

It can also be directly attributed to the temperature as the temperature is decisive of the humidity ratio in the air.

Yes, fungus and moisture go hand in hand. Humidity is directly related to the growth of fungus.

More the humidity more is the fungus formation. It is often seen that fungus starts to grow in the corners and at places where the area is damp.

It has been ascertained that fungus starts to grow when the relative humidity is 80% i.e. when the air temperature is less.
