what is phagogenesis

diskidammunition: Phagogenesis is a process in which animals eat food in order to produce offsprings. Instead of breeding, they eat food to make children with similar genetics of the food they ate. Creatures with phagonesis can only be carnivores so everything they eat will be a living creature and they children they make will have similar genetics

Basically, they’re able to insert stray segments of DNA into their genomes and some of these inserted segments are functional genes. It’s not through their diet, but it is a form of horizontal gene transfer and does persist from generation to generation.

i hope it help yoy
