Yes there is evidence. Lake Bosumtwi, lake, south-central Ghana, which was formed by "meteorite impact crater"
Explanation:
- Meteorite crater is a depression which stems from the "impact" of a "natural object" from inter-planetary space with Earth or with other large solid bodies like the Moon, or other planets & their satellites, or bigger comets & asteroids.
- The field was lush rain-forest full of wildlife until the asteroid impact. After the impact of the crater, the subsequent crater filled with water formed lake Bosumtwi .
- Lake Bosumtwi is the only "natural lake" in Ghana. It is located in an ancient impact crater. It is about 30km southeast of Kumasi, capital of Ashanti ( south Ghana) & is a famous popular recreational area with local people for fishing , boat trips, & swimming.
- There are still existing environmental issues, such as over-fishing and inadequate farming techniques. The increased demand for fish has has been due to increase in the population. Excessive fishing has led to a slow decline in fishing, causing greater reliance on farming.
