Is there any identity like this.... ( x-a)(x-b) = ? (x-a)(x-b) = x 2 -ax-bx +ab is it correct??

Yes , it is correct
But it is like this
(x+a)(x+b)=x^2+(a+b)x+ab
Here in our identity
a and b are negative
(x-a)(x-b) =x^2 -ax-bx+ab
Or
=x^2-(a+b)x+ab
