animals and humans cannot make food from carbon dioxide and water because it lacks the basic component of photosynthesis process without which this process will be incomplete that is chlorophyll..chlorophyll converts photonic energy into chemical energy which is required to break the bonds of carbon-dioxide and water....

One organelles present in the plants named CHLOROPLAST.

chlorophyll, xenthophill, carotene etc are the pigments presents in the chloroplast.

These pigments can used up energy produced from the sun and convert it into chemical energy in the form of ATP.

Because of the chloroplast plants can make food in the presence of CO2 and water with the help of light.

Chloroplast is absence in the animals and human. They don't require such organelles because in humans and animal very well developed digestive systems, excretory system etc are present.

Although cyanobacteria and algae having this organelle, can make food as in plants.

Hope it's useful.

All the best.
