There is a huge relation between transpiration and rainfall. Rainfall is a consequence of the water cycle taking place. The first step of this water cycle is the evaporation of water from the surface. Transpiration is also a type of evaporation and this water plays its role in the condensation process which ultimately causes rainfall. Transpiration also adds a cooling effect to the plants.
