Most stomata are usually found beneath the leaves (on the underside). This is to protect the plant from water loss. There they are well hidden from the sun in the shade of the leaf itself so the sun cannot evaporate the water that keeps the structure of the stomata proper. If the stomata were exposed to the sun, the guard cells would shrivel allowing water vapor to leave uncontrollably. This is why plants wilt when their environments are too hot - it cannot control the amount of water within and so its structural integrity is compromised. it's not locate particular State..

I hope I could help!
