Bighit had female trainees along time ago 2010–2013. This was around the time that they were doing a collab debut for the Girl group Glam.
The Group debuted in 2012 with the management of bighit and Source Music and were bighits first ever girl group. They original had five members Zinni, Trinity, Jiyeon, Dahee and Miso and had the first song ‘PARTY XXO’.
In December of that year Bighit announced the Trinity would be leaving the group due to ‘Personal’ reasons. However rumours where announced that bighit terminated her contract because she was discovered to be a saseang of the boy group EXO.
They had several releases from 2012 and 2013 and had a small amount of popularity.
On September 11th 2014 famous actor Lee Byung-hun accused two women of blackmailing him with a compromising video. Glam member Dahee and model Lee Ji-yeon were finally announced to be these two woman and were charged for trying to blackmail the actor for 5 billion won. In January 2015 both girls were charged and sentence to 1 year in prison. On that same day, bighit entertainment announced they Glam had cancelled there contracts and the group would be offical disbanding.
Due to all of this scandal, in 2015 bighit no longer accepted or would train female trainee, and all of there original female trainees where transfered over to Source Music. In fact members SinB and Eunha were both original bighit trainees before they were debuted into GFRIEND.
Bighit was then hesitatant to take in female trainees when BTS’s success began to spike as they were afraid alot of ‘trainees’ would end up also being saseangs.
However as of 2019-2020 bighit has announced that they are working on producing a girl group under a sub label of the company which will debut sometime in 2022(like how YG entertainment had the black label). So basically the girl group would be a bighit company but under its sublabel so different management teams etc.
They hosted the GLOBAL PLUS+ auctions in both Korea and other countries such as America, China, Japan and I believe in Thailand aswell. As of down I believe that the selected bunch are now training under bighit.
