Yes, there are many religions in India like Muslims , Hindu etc. but there is no state religion in India. Therefore there is secularization in India.

India is a secular nation. In the 42nd amendment (enacted in 1976) in India first laid down the term 'secular' in the constitution and included many such articles that gave India it's secular character. In India, the constitution does not recognize the repationship between state and religion. Every individual has the freedom of choosing and practising their own religion, provided they don't interfere with the workings of any other religious authority.

In India, there was a need of religion being separated from politics, for it's multi-religiousity and to safeguard the hardwon freedom

As said by Jawaharlal Nehru, amd I quote- "Our constitution lays down that we are a secular state, but it must be admitted that it is not wholly reflected in our mass living and thinking. The declaration of India as a secular state was only a step in the process of secularization."

First off, what dies secularization mean? Secularization is a term which, simply put, means the decreasing functions and less power and authority of religions in jurisdiction, society, economy, and other worldly matters. It can also mean as the decline of the importance of religion in all aspects of one's life.

So, yes. India is secularized, as in constitutional terms. In practicality, in reality, it's a herculean task to maintain 'secularism' in it's true sense.
