Density of air depends inversely on the amount of water vapour present in it.
Cold air is drier than hot air which is more humid since it takes up water vapour molecules easily.
Hence cold air is denser.
Another reason:
The hot air has more internal heat and hence more internal kinetic energy. So hot air is less closely packed and hence less dense.
Hope it helps.
