base are the substances which are insoluble alkaline which have pH more than 7 and can neutralize the acid substances

the well known definition for acid and base is that acids are sour in taste and base are bitter in taste and the pH value of acid can be said to be from 1-6 and the pH value of base can said to be from 8-14.
