Apart from discovering law of gravity, Isaac Newton also discovered 7 colors of rainbow. Rainbow is an arc formed in the sky when the light from the sun and rain combines.

This arc is generated by reflection and refraction. The light from the sun is seen to be white from the earth but when it touches raindrops at particular angle, ‘white light splits’ into 7 different colors.  

The colors of rainbow seen are - Violet, Indigo, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange and Red.
