Isabella is making a huge flag of her country, the Republic of Seychelles, on a canvas 20 by 10 meters long. To do that, she has to draw a diagonal line that begins at the bottom-left corner and ends at the top side of te flag, 6.6 meters tk the right. Since the ends of the diagonal line are too far to put a ruler between them, Isabella wanted to find the angle of the diagonal and draw it using a protractor. What is the angle, in degrees, between the diagonal line and the left edge of the flag. Round final answer to the nearest tenth.

33.4° the angle of the diagonal  6.6 m right

Step-by-step explanation:

Blue Shaded triangle is a right angle triangle

Let say angle = α

=> Tan α  = 6.6/10

=> Tan α = 0.66

=> α = Tan⁻¹(0.66)

=> α = 33.4°

In this flag the diagonal is making a right angled triangle

  • Base = 10
  • Height = 6.6
  • Angle of theta = ?

By using trigonometry ratio :

 \bf \tan \theta =  \frac{p}{b}  \\  \\  \bf \tan \theta =  \frac{6.6}{10}

 \bf\tan \theta = 0.66 \\  \\   \bf\theta =  { \tan}^{ - 1} (0.66 )\\  \\ \large \boxed{  \blue{\bf\theta  = 33.4}}

Angle between side and diagonal is 33.4°
