Islands like in the philippines are usually covered by coconuts at the shores. Using your knowledge of plant propagations, explain how and why this happen.

Because the coconut tree has "chosen" to propagate it's seeds via the sea/ocean. Their seeds are well suited to float them to far off places. They have done this to avoid/minimize competition within kin. Those who do this well spread well and will likely be found to be more in numbers. Hence the preference to 'lean' towards the sea.
