8. A balanced force can never cause an object to move. A balanced force is Balance forces are two forces acting in opposite directions on an object, and equal in size. Anytime there is a balanced force on an object, the object stays still or continues moving continues to move at the same speed and in the same direction.

So, if the object is in rest, then the balanced force can't make the object move.

Now unbalanced force - any two forces acting on each other, which are not equal and opposite ( thereby causing motion ) are unbalanced forces.

As all the forces acting upon the object are not same, so they cannot cancel each other. As a result, the object obtains motion.

9. The object will move to right. As, the force towards the right direction is 50 N and the force towards the left direction is 30 N. Force towards the right is more. So, the 30 N force can cancel 30 N from the opposite force, but the rest 20 N force can't be cancelled. So, due to that force of 20 N, the object moves to right.
