Clean throughly with a rag and solvent when possibleAppy rust preventive oil or other oilIn some cases you can wrap the tool in oil or oil preventive soaked rag.Tool can be warmed for better absorption of oil.
Once properly treated an iron tool can be stored for many year even decades without damage.

to prevent it from corostion {rusting} because iron is very reactive metal it get easily react with oxygen also so to prevent iron. articles and tool to apply a cot of coil so this layer prevent the iron to react then iron article or tools remain as same as new one
