Yes, green revolution takes into account almost all goals of five year plans.

  • India started five year plans in the year 1951. The five years plans are the integrated national economic programs which constitute self reliance,  growth, and modernization. Through green revolution, all the objectives of five year plans can be achieved such as -
  1. Economic growth - Green revolution increased the production of food grains and also the income of farmers. In addition to this  it also increases the GDP.
  2. Self reliance - Through green revolution, India is self sufficient of grains and can easily create a buffer which can be used in timed of shortage.   In addition to this, India has also been exporting a large portion of crops.
  3. Moderanization - Green revolution employs innovative agricultural strategies such as modern farming and also uses up to date tools like tractors, tube-wells etc. which promote better agricultural practices.
