According to the APPR ACT, Sec 6, in most of the states it is mandatory to organise the gram sabha meeting at least twice in an year.
The government has specified the dates as well i.e. 14th April and 3rd Oct. This applies to the staes like Assam, Bihar, Arunachal pradesh, karnataka, punjab etc.
Other states like Goa, Gujraat, kerala, Orisaa and others have the provision of holding minimum of four meetings in an year.
