It is correct to say that India would have been an arid land without monsoon? Support your answer with five arguements

Yes, it is correct to say that India would have been an arid land without monsoon because:-

  1. We people of India are depending on rains for farming and agriculture.
  2. The rain is used to recharge the groud water level.
  3. Without monsoon rain we connot have so thick forest.
  4. The western and eastern ghats of India are very green because of monsoon rain.
  5. As western Rajasthan do not receive any rain it became arid and sandy region.

Answer: Indian climate totally depends upon the monsoon because of the following reason :-

1- As western Rajasthan do not receive any rain it arid and sandy region.

2-The North western winds that prevail in India are dry and does not cause any rainfall but due to the deflection coming from South East India does receive rains.

3-Without monsoon the farmers of India would not be able to irrigate the land as most of the peninsular rivers are seasonal an dependent on monsoon for water.

4-Without monsoon we might not been having such thick forest.

5-The eastern and the western Ghats of India are so much green because of the heavy rainfall they get

Therefore it is correct to say that without monsoon India might have been an arid land
