yes ,it is difficult to prevent common cold because it is a communicable disease,

it  is a virus which does not have any appropriate medicine to treat it.

viruses cannot  be cured by means of any medicine, it gradually goes on its own.

The virus is RHINO VIRUS.

It is difficult to prevent common cold because it is a acute disease and most of the people have it.When these people's cold causing virus enters our body we also get affected with common cold.That is why it is known as communicable disease.Anyway it is ok to have common cold because it gets cured fast naturally.Hope it helps and pls mark as the best answer. :-)
