We know: Force = pressure per unit area.

In case of of comparison in area, the surface area of blunt knife is more than that of a sharp knife.

Now,

F = P÷A.

Hence, force is inversely proportional to surface area. That is more the surface area less is the force. Hence, blunt knife with a broader surface area exerts less force, and the knife with sharper edge and consequently a lesser surface area exerts more force. Therefore it is easier to cut with a sharp knife.
