Due to differences in their momentum.
p=MV
due to greater mass of cricket ball it's hard for one to stop it as compared to tennis ball.
Here p=momentum
M=mass
V =Velocity

It is easier to stop a tennis ball as compared to a cricket ball when both are travelling with the same velocity because tennis ball has less momentum than that of cricket ball. Cricket ball has higher mass as compared to tennis ball, hence cricket ball has higher momentum as compared to tennis ball's momentum.
If momentum is higher, then the force will also be higher. Hence, it is difficult to stop cricket ball as compared to tennis ball.
