because the friction of the rubber ball is more than the wooden ball , so the rubber ball will stop easily. Due to high friction the rubber ball will slow down and can be easily stopped.

To stop any moving ball we apply the opposite direction's friction force on the ball with our hands.

Which means more the friction, less the effort needed for stopping a moving ball.

The surface of the rubber ball has more friction than the wooden ball , that's why stopping the rubber ball is lot more easier than stopping a wooden ball.
