It is given that in a group of 3 students the probability of 2 students have the same birthday is 0.992 what is the probability that the two students have different birthday

Probability of 2 std. having different birthday = 1 - P (same)

= 1 - 0.992

= 0.008

let E be the event of having the same birthday

P(E) =0.992

But P(E) +P = 1

P= 1-P(E)

= 1-P(E)

=1-0.992

=0.008
