Here in this poem the pote Robert Frost has illustrated that there are two groups of people who says that the world will end due to fire and other group says that it will end due to ice . poet has symbolised fire as greed , desire , conflicts and ice is symbolised as hate , jealousy , and rigidity.

but in both case the world will end , and it's only the hobsons choice that the poet faces in this poem.
